Improv for Actors

Improv for Actors

“When the honesty of an actor leaves, so does the emotional relatability of the scene.”

The class will focus on improv principles to enhance acting choices when it comes to auditions and being on set. The first four weeks will use games, improv exercises, and scenes to heighten listening, presence, connection, and acceptance. We will discuss our observations and thoughts on the exercises to further explore and understand our process. The class will then use these skills and apply them to scripted work. The next four weeks will be used to apply what we've learned and continue to emphasize the key elements of improv to make our acting choices stronger.
