Joy Pervis began her career in the entertainment industry 25 years ago in the Atlanta market when she created a talent agency specializing in young actors. In 2007, her impeccable eye for talent and her years of discovering and building careers earned her a position as Head Talent Scout for the prestigious Osbrink Agency located in Los Angeles, CA. In 2009, she joined her daughter in-law, Jayme Pervis, at the J Pervis Talent Agency, recognized as one of the top talent agency in the Southeast representing adults and youth in all facets of the industry.

Joy is nationally recognized for discovering, developing, and/or representing actors such as Dakota Fanning, Raven Symone’, Nolan Gould (ABC’s Modern Family (2009–2019) ), Lucas Till (CBS’s MacGyver (2016–2019)), Shameik Moore (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) , Grammy Nominees CHLOE X HALLE, Disney’s Navia Robinson, Algee Smith, Jacob Latimore and many more.

Joy was acknowledged for her achievements in the entertainment industry as the recipient of the 2013 Georgia Highlight Award sponsored by the GA Entertainment Gala. That same year, she was honored to receive the esteemed R.I.C.E. Award (Rising In Community Excellent) and in 2018 received the Torch Honoree Award at the 8th Annual R.I.C.E. Awards. In 2016 and 2019 she was awarded TMA Regional Agent of the Year from the Talent Managers Association in Beverly Hills, CA.
